James Rosen­quist: Paint­ing as Im­mer­sion

In a ma­jor ex­hi­bi­tion, the Mu­se­um Lud­wig is show­ing the breath­tak­ing works of the Pop artist James Rosen­quist. The ex­hi­bi­tion pre­sents the artist’s rich­ly col­ored works to­gether with col­lages and archi­val ma­te­rials that have nev­er been ex­hi­b­it­ed be­fore, which served as the ba­sis for his of­ten monu­men­tal works.

On the fifti­eth an­niv­er­sary of the death of Martin Luther King, the Mu­se­um Lud­wig is ex­hi­b­it­ing the works of the pho­­to­g­ra­phers Pirk­le Jones and Ruth-Mar­i­on Baruch, who cap­­tured San Fran­­cis­­co in the tur­bu­­lent 1960s with sym­­pa­thy and ob­serv­ing dis­­­tance.
